Christmas
Oh what fun we had this Christmas!
Drew went to his mom's for the Christmas break, so we celebrated with him on December 19. His gifts from us this year were: a keyboard, Bose headphones, LSU jacket, LSU sleep pants, and a Nike Jacket. We went to Brian's parents’ house that Saturday, so that Drew could celebrate Christmas with them before he left. Drew got to pick the meal that night, with a heavy influence from his father, and he chose sopapilla burgers and blueberry cobbler. Both were very good and I got the sopapilla burger recipe almost immediately.

Brenna's Christmas list this year was an umbrella and ice skates. We're not sure exactly why she wanted ice skates in Louisiana, but it was her number one wish.
Rainbow Dash pajamas.
Her very own Frozen umbrella.
Rainbow Dash Flipeez.
Frozen ice skates!!
We decided that Santa should give her some roller blades with a note saying that since we live in Louisiana and there is no ice, here are some roller blades that you can actually use. I found some Frozen roller blades online at Target and bought them on Cyber Monday at 20% off. They came in the mail the next week, but I never opened the box, assuming nothing was wrong with the shipment. I finally opened the box a few days before Christmas to wrap them and they sent us the wrong thing. The packing slip said Frozen roller blades, but Princess roller blades were in the box. By this time it would be too late to buy another pair online and have them shipped in time. My parents happened to be around town that day and stopped by Target to see if they had any Frozen roller blades in the store and they did. Whew! They hid a pair and we went the next day to get them. Turns out these weren't just roller blades, but interchangeable ice skate/roller blades. They turned out to be the perfect gift, not only did she get her ice skates, but also roller blades that she will actually be able to use.
It's a tradition in the Colwell family for the children to go on a scavenger hunt for their last present from Santa. We decided to start that tradition with Brenna this year and she absolutely loved it!
At the end of her scavenger hunt she found a Frozen bicycle.
Frozen Fever nightgown.
Someone is ready to go roller blading!
